New website provides easier access to ILSI online content and furthers the understanding of scientific issues relating to nutrition, food safety, toxicology, risk assessment, and environmental health.
(Washington, DC) The International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI), a worldwide nonprofit foundation that seeks to improve the well-being of the general public through the advancement of science, launched its redesigned website today that will serve as an important resource to its members and the scientific community. The site (www.ilsi.org) provides improved navigational tools and easier access to the scope of scientific programs, activities, and publications from all ILSI entities.
“Communication to our members and scientific colleagues in academia, government, and industry, as well as to nongovernmental organizations, about ILSI activities is a critical priority,” said Dr. Gary Henderson, ILSI president. “This new design will greatly assist us in that effort,” noted Dr. Henderson.
Other features of the new design include:
- Improved search capability
- Reorganization of online content.
“ILSI branches and Research Foundation are involved in many nutrition, food safety, toxicology, and risk assessment projects,” explained Dr. Suzanne Harris, ILSI executive director. The reorganization of content on the website will allow users to obtain information about specific topics. For example, if a visitor is seeking information about ILSI activities on overweight/obesity, not only will they obtain general information about this issue, but they can find specific programs or publications sponsored by ILSI entities around the world,” said Dr. Harris.
The redesign also includes enhanced features in the “Members Only” section of the site – including a new, real-time electronic Member Directory that is integrated with the ILSI member database. To visit the ILSI website, click here.
