ILSI Europe Annual Symposium 2012


Theme of the symposium
Under the theme “The 21st century food chain”, ILSI Europe’s 2012 Annual Symposium has covered a broad selection of topics including primary production and sourcing, processing technologies, food intake physiology and societal impact of food, concluding with future outlooks for ILSI Europe.
Following the General Assembly of Members scheduled on 29 March 2012 from 10:00 to 12:00, the Annual Symposium started at 12:00 and ended with a closing lunch on 30 March 2012 from 12:30 to 14:00.
On 30 March 2012, before the first presentation, optional breakfast meetings were organised to present ILSI Europe’s work programme and possibly develop new activities.
 
Purpose
The ILSI Europe Annual Symposium was organised back to back with the General Assembly of Members. The objective was to address topics that are related to ILSI Europe’s work programme and emerging issues.
 
Audience
This multidisciplinary event was of interest for scientists working in food safety, nutrition, toxicology and related areas, regulators from industry and government, and representatives of international organisations.

Registration is free of charge and includes access to the symposium, the meals and refreshments served during the breaks on 29-30 March 2012, as well as the social dinner on 29 March 2012.
 
ILSI Europe offers grants for CEE, SEE and Baltic Scientists
 
A limited number of travel grants have been made available for scientists from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey.
 
Successful applicants have been selected and notified. They will receive a free hotel night on 29 March 2012 and the reimbursement of their travel costs up 500 euros upon submission of an expense claim with appropriate receipts after the event.
