Working Group on Obesity in China

​Formed in 2000 with the active participation and input by a group of leading experts in China, the Working Group on Obesity in China has successfully achieved:

  • The development of BMI Classification for Chinese Adults and the BMI Reference Norm for Screening Overweight and Obesity in Chinese Children and Adolescents;
  • The development of the "Guidelines for Prevention and Control of Overweight and Obesity in Chinese Adults," which was drafted by the working group and officially issued by the Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention, Ministry of Health of China.
