The purpose of the International Nutritional Anemia Consultative Group (INACG) is to guide international activities aimed at reducing iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and other nutritionally preventable anemias worldwide. Their 2003 symposium featured expert speakers and presentations discussing the relationship between infectious diseases and iron deficiency and updates in relation to iron deficiency and anemia control. Other topics covered addressed programs for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency. This report includes an agenda detailing the presentations with summaries of each, as well as a list of references and abstracts for the papers discussed.
