Vitamin A and the Common Agenda for Micronutrients
Report/White Paper 2004

The International Vitamin A Consultative Group guides international activities for reducing vitamin A deficiency in the world. Their 2004 meeting featured expert speakers and presentations with a focus to: advance the prevention of vitamin A and other micronutrient deficiencies, especially those of iron and zinc; to better understand the diversity of nutrient-nutrient and nutrient-disease interactions; and to consider how knowledge of such effects can be used to enhance the effectiveness and safety of micronutrient interventions. These issues were examined in over 45 oral and 100 poster presentations. This report includes an agenda detailing the presentations with summaries of each, as well as a list of references and abstracts for the papers discussed.
