Why Iron Is Important and What to Do About It: A New Perspective
Report/White Paper 2002

The purpose of the International Nutritional Anemia Consultative Group (INACG) is to guide international activities aimed at reducing iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and other nutritionally preventable anemias worldwide. Their 2001 symposium featured expert speakers and presentations discussing why iron is important and the recent developments in assessing iron status. Other topics covered addressed the treatment, prevention, and cure of iron deficiency. This report includes an agenda detailing the presentations with summaries of each, as well as a list of references and abstracts for the papers discussed.
