Mission
ILSI is a nonprofit, worldwide organization whose mission is to improve public health and well-being by engaging academic, government and industry scientists in a neutral forum to advance scientific understanding in the areas related to nutrition, food safety, risk assessment, and the environment. ILSI receives its funding from its industry members, governments, and foundations.Concept
ILSI was incorporated in 1978 to improve anticipation and response to scientific uncertainty. It was envisioned as an international body; one that would foster collaboration among industries and regulatory agencies to help ensure the safety and well-being of the public. Prominent researchers from industry and academia were to jointly lead the organization, guiding its work to generate data, harmonize the use of science, and encourage scientific dialogue.
Over 30 years later, ILSI is still delivering on this promise.
ILSI South Andean
ILSI Sur-Andino es una corporación científica, sin fines de lucro, creada por personalidad jurídica, otorgada por el Ministerio de Justicia de Chile, en el año 1997. Desde esa fecha, ILSI Sur-Andino ha estado presente en el quehacer nacional y durante estos años ha servido de punto de encuentro para la academia, gobierno, industria y consumidores a través de las distintas actividades que ha organizado.
